Prep Time :
5 mins for mylk. Overnight to soak your nuts
nut bag, piece of muslin cloth or stocking, wide mouthed bowl and electric blender
1 large glass
2 cups sterilised water, handful raw almonds, pinch quality salt
use half a cup of water and soak the nuts overnight or for at least 8 hours. Discard the soaking water and rinse the nuts. Add soaked nuts and 1.5 cups water and salt to your blender. Blend on high for a good minute.
Into the bowl pour your blended liquid through the bag or whatever you are using. Squeeze all the liquid through the bag, slowly.
Your mylk is now ready to drink, pour over your favorite granola or add to a recipe.
You also have your nut pulp. This is a fantastic ingredient to use for date and nut bombs (see recipe above) or as a base for cakes. I also love to use it for a face & body scrub in my home shower/spa. Try it, I dare you to feel like Cleopatra :-)
Add a pitted medjool date and a teaspoon of raw cacao &/or macca powder to your almond mylk and have yourself an afternoon pick me up.
