QIGONG: MOVEMENT AS MEDICINE

Qigong (pronounced "chee-gong") is a traditional Chinese practice integrating gentle movements with breathing to promote the flow of vital energy—or Qi—throughout the body. As the self-healing practice of Chinese medicine, qigong offers powerful benefits for maintaining flexibility and joint health especially as we age.

NOURISHING JOINTS & TENDONS

Unlike conventional exercise, qigong specifically:

  • Hydrates and strengthens tendons and fascia through gentle, spiraling movements

  • Lubricates joints through their full range of motion without causing wear

  • Develops functional movement patterns that support daily activities

  • Reduces inflammation while improving tissue oxygenation

FOR EVERY BODY

Qigong can be practiced:

  • By people of all ages and health conditions

  • Standing, sitting, or lying down

  • At varying intensities to match your energy

BENEFITS FOR AGING BODIES

Regular practice promotes:

  • Enhanced joint mobility and tendon strength

  • Improved balance and coordination

  • Greater flexibility without strain

  • Reduced pain and inflammation

  • Mental clarity and stress reduction

This ancient wisdom offers practical solutions for maintaining a supple, resilient body through every life transition, especially supporting perimenopause and beyond.
