QIGONG: MOVEMENT AS MEDICINE
Qigong (pronounced "chee-gong") is a traditional Chinese practice marrying graceful movements with breathing and visualisation to promote the flow of vital energy—or Qi—throughout the body.
As the self-healing practice of Chinese medicine, qigong offers powerful benefits for maintaining physical and emotional flexibility especially in midlife.
My Qigong teaching is grounded in the healing principles and my experience as a practitioner of Chinese medicine and Shiatsu.
While I have not trained within a single Qigong lineage, my approach is shaped by over 30 years of hands-on healing work, movement practice, and somatic study.
I’ve worked with multiple teachers (both in-person and online) in medical and seasonal Qigong and what I offer is unique.
💫 A living, embodied practice that weaves ancient Chinese medicine wisdom with modern understandings of fascia, somatic healing, and nervous system regulation
💫 A holistic, personalised approach that meets you where you are — addressing chronic pain, emotional patterns, menopausal shifts, and the deeper need for adaptability.
The benefits of regular Qigong practice go beyond exercise.
✨ Improves joint mobility, keeping the body fluid, resilient & adaptable.
✨ Nourishes & hydrating the fascia for better flexibility and ease of metabolic function.
✨ Regulates the nervous system, shifting us out of chronic fight-or-flight into a more present, clear state.
✨ Enhances emotional well-being, supporting the processing of grief, anger, or overwhelm in ways the mind alone cannot.
✨ Supports faster recovery from illness and injury by strengthening the body’s self-healing mechanisms.
✨ Cultivates adaptability in an ever-changing world.
✨ When we have agency over our breath & body, we gain agency over our life.
Our classes are more like guided healing environments where you learn to awaken your own body’s wisdom, access spaciousness and power, and move through life with greater ease, presence, and strength.
